So Lagos is obviously going to be pretty hard to top… It was just too good, I knew this when I was leaving, but was stoked to try out a new place, meet some new people, and have some more good times.

I got to Seville and it was an oven, here is an equation to explain:

95 degrees + 1 baking sun – 1 sea breeze = 1 sweaty ass honky

I walked from the bus station until I found my way to the hostel. It was called the Oasis hostel… It lived up to its name…

That pool was cash. Turned out Steph from my last hostel in Lagos was in the same hostel as me, we met up and had a drink or two, and then I some how wound up going out to find a flamenco show with 2 girls from Canada, a chick from Paris and Laura from Brazil.

The Canadians and the Parisian ended up dancing for the entire bar to see, they had no idea what the hell they were doing, and this fact was quite evident, but enjoyed by all hahaha. We were packed in their like the sardines that enjoy so much down here in southern Spain. We were about the only tourist, it seemed, everyone in there knew each other by name. The lady that owned the place (Lady in the yellow dress in the photo above) was probably 70+ years old, but she still got out there and danced and sang until 2 AM. It was sick, definitely glad I went!

The next day I got up and wandered the streets. Loved the little alleyways and what not that were about 7 feet wide, and some how still facilitated the use of cars. Went into the Cathedral of Seville. It is the 3rd largest Church in the world and THE largest gothic style church in the world. Pretty impressive building that took just over 100 years to build. The people who built it wanted to “build it so grand and so beautiful that those who see it finished will think we are mad”

It was a very impressive and demanding structure, I would agree that it instilled in me their sought after effect of thinking, “these people were mad.” I can’t fathom building something like this for so many reasons: it was over 500 years ago, how the fuck could you design this thing without a computer, how could you build it even by today’s standards, the cost…The list goes on and only helps to further reinforce my belief that religion can drive people to do anything…good or bad. It also contains the remains of Christopher Columbus (Last photo). His body has been relocated so many times throughout history it’s crazy, I get his importance in history, but don’t understand why people love him still, hell I wouldn’t care to claim him as my countryman, he was a dick, but to each their own.

Throughout Spain there has been very intriguing religious/cultural history this is visible and evident in many of the buildings and their surroundings. I thought the photo above of their famed Gothic Christian Cathedral shot through a Morrish (Muslim) archway and wall that surrounds some of the church was a perfect example of this interesting history. It wasn’t uncommon for the Christians to build their Cathedrals on top of an old Muslim Mosque, interesting to see what remnants they would allow to be left behind from the Muslims.

Thankfully the Christians didn’t make any attempts at destroying and rebuilding over the Moorish Alcazar (photos above). This place was amazing and absolutely sprawling. Crazy they build this shit over 1000 years ago, some of the Spanish Royal Family still lives in there. I was going to call it an early night and hit the sack but I got invited to the bar and couldn’t turn it down, it was my final day in Seville.

More tunes were jammed that night… I got up the next day and went to check out Plaza de Espana with Liisa from Finland.

We went out after and got some lunch, then I got on a train, which is where I am now, just tearing through the Spanish countryside at 185 MPH, it’s pretty bad ass!

P.S.  – My entries are unfortunately out of sequential order…It took my some time to figure out how to use WordPress and I can only post shit when I have fast WIFI, publishing is a somewhat arduous pain in the ass anyway, writing is cool but publishing sucks haha….Maybe I’ll get a secretary and editor someday so I can keep doing epic shit and writing about it. Hope ya learned a thing or two or laughed a time a two.
