There is not much to be said about the Cinque Terre other than go there!!! It was amazing. I stayed at the 5 Terre Backpackers hostel and would highly recommend it, would not stay anywhere else. It was just outside of the town of Monterosso up in the mountains just beside the sea. On the shuttle ride up to the hostel everyone got to know a bit about each other. I walked into the hostel and instantly loved it, a dude my brother and I had partied with back in Lisbon was staying in the same hostel, his name is Andy from Sydney, solid dude
Francesco cooked dinner for everyone in the place every night. The first night it was a Simone’s birthday so they had a party and everyone from the hostel was invited. Alongside a bunch of friendly locals we had a rad BBQ until the sun went down, but the conversations didn’t stop with the sun. I even proceeded to star gaze. The perfect night, with the raddest of folks.
The next day a girl named Paris, from San Francisco, and I set out to hike all 5 villages. Stopped in Corniglia (village 3) had some lunch and eventually made it to Manarola (the 4th village) and decided to take a swimming and wine break. The lower route was closed so we had to hike clear up into the mountains and around to Manarola, we were fucking exhausted by this point so the swimming and wine was a solid choice on our part haha…

After the hike we went back to an epic dinner with everyone at the hostel, star gazed yet again and hit the sack. Didn’t sleep much seeing as I was up until 3:30 both nights gazing away and was catching the 8:30 shuttle back into town both mornings. I figure you can sleep when your dead right? I am just too busy having fun to waste time on sleep. Finally photo is of part of the Cinque Terre crew, we went our separate ways, but I’m sure some of us will cross paths again soon.
