Ronda was a short but sweet trip. The view from the train getting there was dope, the rolling hills and mountains in the backdrop reminded me of Morgan, Utah. I made it to Ronda without a problem, pulled out my phone at the train station to get directions to my hostel, it looked pretty close, but maps was routing me all the way around, what I thought, was a little river or something.
It was 8 kilometers that I’d have to walk, said maps, but if I could just cross this little river or whatever I’d only be 1ish kilometers away. I began walking opposite to where maps told me to go, but directly towards my hostel…

This was the “little river crossing.” Haha The building at the bottom of the photo was my hostel…I could just make out the letters on the side of building… But there did appear to be a dirt shortcut, better than the 8 kilometers by road, the view along the way wasn’t too bad either.

Once I made it to the hostel I realized that there was nothing down there besides the hostel and a few farms, but I was starving. I had to nighthike my hungry ass back into town to eat and then back down again to sleep, I walked just over 20 miles (32 kilometers) that day, 6 (10 km) of those miles I had my 40+ lbs (20 kg) pack on.
I woke up and hiked back out with my pack on again, God almighty it’s a good thing that I still have my youth, my legs and feet were howlin’ by the time I made it to the train that day. I had to jog the last mile or so to make the train, hike took longer than I had anticipated.haha I am thankful to have my youth and my health, otherwise most of this trip wouldn’t be a reality.
